Our editor-in-chief David Carlson has for some time been working as acting group design director for WallVision. WallVision runs a number of Swedish and international premium wallpaper brands. One of David’s tasks has been to raise the wallpaper category to be more top-of-mind when it comes to design and architecture. In conjunction with the Milan Design Week he will be involved in the launch of a new collection of wallpapers for the revived brand Engblad & Co. The collection is designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune and inspired by architecture, nature, form and geometry

The history of Engblad & Co dates back to the very beginning of industrial wallpaper production in Sweden. The company was founded in 1880 by Carl Fredrik Engblad as Göteborgs Tapetfabrik, but more recently has been known by the name Eco Wallpaper. Eco is an abbreviation of Engblad & Co, and over the years it has become one of Sweden’s leading wallpaper brands. Now Eco Wallpaper revive the Engblad & Co. brand for a number of exciting designer collaborations.

The exhibition takes place at Superstudio, Via Tortona 27, Milan, 8–13 April. Opening hours are 10am – 9pm.
