As fun extention to the pallet project Nina started to make “off cut animals” from all these bits and pieces of “off cuts” in the bottum of the waste bin in her workshop. They consists of different odd shapes with nails holes and random cuts in them.

It was like a bunch of eyes, ears and tails bundled together. So I started to make some creatures for fun, says Nina Tolstrup.

One day Brent Dzekciorius from Philips de Pury saw the off cut animals in her workshop and wanted to sell them in the New Your and London galleries. They were all one off pieces and sold well. This Christmas Philips de Pury asked Nina for some idea for their Christmas event in the galleries and she suggested to cast some creatures, and so she did. They are made as a limited edition of 3×10.
