Danish café concept The Royal Café has recently opened a new branch in Tokyo. It’s situated in the department store Mitsukoshi in the Ginza district. The Royal Café has 90 seats and will be the first café/restaurant in Ginza with outdoor seating.

The Royal Café is the first Danish café to open in Japan. The plan is to open 5 cafés in Tokyo during the next two years. It will be interesting to see how the Royal Café sushi inspired mini smørrebrød – called SMUSHI – will be received.

The interior is made in collaboration with Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen og Søn, Kvadrat, Georg Jensen, Royal Copenhagen and Kosta Boda-Orrefors.
