Hello there,
I am currently studying a Masters in Graphic Design at Saint Martins in London, and have started researching into my dissertation. The title thus far is ‘Commercial innovations and social implications’.
The aim of this study is to enrich my knowledge of the society in which we live, with the hope that this will be the foundation to how I apply myself as a designer ‘in’ the world and ‘to’ the world. I want to be part of tomorrow, but first I need to understand it.
The reason I have contacted you is that I wish to do a chapter about ‘a social innovator’ who is ‘for the world’ not ‘of the world’, and my interest has brought me to yourselves.
I really like and feel encouraged by what you guys do and really want to grow to be a designer ‘for the world’ not ‘of the world’, and I believe you guys can steer me in the right direction.
I Write in the hope that you might be able to provide me with some material to assist me with my research with the following questions: (and any other info you see fit)
1) What is your mission for society and the world etc?
2) What is your view on advertising and it’s effects upon society and culture?
3) How do you think commercial innovation has impacted our culture and society?
4) What does the future of society and commercial innovation look like to you?
I thank you very much for your time, and I hope you can help me.
Kind Regards,
Rob Porter

I am studying for a degree in Interior Design and I found your website whilst researching Philippe Starck for an assignment. I have to say that I was distracted away from my subject and have signed up to your newsletter and downloaded you trend forecast pdf for reading later. Having briefly scanned your website, and leading on from the trend forecast can you suggest where I might find colour trend forcasts for the next few years?

I’m a designer, urban theorist based out of Miami, FL. I just wanted to commend you guys on a great website. The content is timely and appropriate, but i was most impressed with the amount of information you make accessible through links, widgets, etc. You also clearly demonstrate a predisposition toward exquisite taste, and make reference to many of the trends, projects, technologies that I myself reference when developing a vision for a project, and illustrating that vision to my clients.
The approach you take, as someone looking to make a difference and highlight others who are doing just that, makes the blog all the more significant. I am interested in starting a dialogue here in the States based on similar principles, namely providing people with information that will help empower them in fulfilling their dreams, and creating a more beautiful, livable world.
I stumbled upon your site today, but i’ll be coming back for more in the days and weeks to come.
By the way, love Sweden. Spent some time there several years ago and have been waiting for the opportunity to go back.
Best,
Gianpaolo
