Philippe Starck restaurant in Beijing
Philippe Starck’s latest interior design work is the new restaurant Le Lan in Beijing, China. As you can see on the images Philippe Starck has gone all the way as usual. One of the reasons why I started to work with design some twenty years ago was actually because of Philippe Starck. I really loved Café Coste in Paris and my first design shop which I opened in 1988 was crowded with Philippe Starck pieces. He offered something completely new as a reaction towards the predominated post modernism. More simple and clean, but still with a twist. The new work by Philippe Starck in China is certainly not an exercise in minimalism on the other hand…

I cannot see that Starck Vomit anymore. Sorry.
He could have at least spared us with putting his footprint as well into China.

My God! Hideous! Faux luxury… suitable for businessmen from the West who want to do business in China and cheat on their wives with exotic girls …
