About David Carlson

David Carlson, founder of David Report, has been working with design as a tool for change for more than twenty years David Carlson is renowned for his knowledge of strategies for design, communication and brand development. His on-line trend report titled David Report offers cutting-edge critical thinking. He is the founder of the fashion and furniture brand David Design, the knowledge company Designboost and the lifestyle shop Carlson Ahnell.
With design thinking based on a culturally connected trend insight David Carlson helps clients like Absolut, Electrolux, Audi, Level vodka, Iittala, E.ON, Thule and Ikea in creating attractive brands ready for the challenges ahead. Organisations like City of Malmö, Region Skåne, Swedish Government and Nordic Council also benefit from his knowledge.

David Carlson is co-author of the book Designboost - sharing design knowledge and regularly invited as a speaker, moderator and panel member at conferences worldwide. He writes trend reports and debate articles and creates ideation and conceptualization workshops based on trends at the intersection of design, culture and commercial life. Over the years David Carlson has been interviewed repeatedly in global print and on-line media including magazines, radio and television.

David Carlson is enjoying the relaxed life in the small beach community Falsterbo with perfect infrastructure in the heart of the expansive Öresundsregionen in the southernmost part of Sweden. One of his large private interests is music. His musical story began as DJ back in the late seventies playing Barry White and Curtis Mayfield 45´s. He has been playing guitar in various groups over the past 30 years (he was signed by EMI in the eighties…). His interest in music also resulted in compilation CD´s for Swedish, French and Japanese record labels. David Carlson is interested in the relationship between man and nature. He is chairman of a socity for the conservation of nature and he also makes events and lectures about his soulful relation to gardening in general and old roses in particular.

In the late seventies he won the Swedish track and fields junior championship in hurdle race.
