We are normally not that excited by new wall shelves. But the new Corniche glossy pedestals by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra have a subtle elegance that stand out. We have to admit that the Bouroullec brothers are covered every now and then here at David Report, but there is always this subtle touch in all of their designs.
The pedestals are made of ABS and come in three sizes and a variety of colors that include white, black and red.
The idea behind this design arose from the need for small storage spaces to spontaneously keep items, says Ronan Bouroullec.
Corniches are individual protrusions in the environments that can be used and organized freely, to put items of daily use to keep them at one’s fingertips or to make a larger installation, says Erwan Bouroullec.
