It will be a lot of objects filled with memories from the 17 years that the restaurant Oaxen Krog attracted foodies from all over the world to the Stockholm archipelago. All equipment and furnishings– from silver cutlery and plates to furniture and art – will be sold at the auction.
It is the interiors of one of the world’s best restaurants that go under the hammer, said Christian Minnhagen, Vice President at Stockholms Auktionsverk. All the objects are part of Oaxen Krog’s amazing history, and several are truly one of a kind. We are delighted to have been entrusted to hold this sale.
Among the hundreds of nice objects, there are some who have a very special story. For example, Magnus Ek decided to part with a chef’s knife, which has
twice been involved in winning the ‘Culinary Olympics’. Now, it will help someone else to succeed in the kitchen.
It will be really interesting to perceive the interest level, says Agneta Green, who now instead operates the deli store Oaxen Skafferi with Magnus Ek. The entire last year, we had many people asking if they could buy some of the things. We will now sell everything except a few selected objects that carry special memories.
In 2013, the owner of Oaxen, Agneta Green and Magnus Ek, will open a new restaurant located at Djurgården in Stockholm. Although the regulars will recognize the dining experience and the friendly service, the new restaurant will have a quite different profile and interior design. This is why the owners chose to sell the furnishings from Oaxen Krog, despite their excellent condition.
