Villa Överby by John Robert Nilsson is a cottage with very high requirements in terms of design and precision of execution. Simple shapes, clean lines are consistently pursued.

It is a technology-intensive house, like a piece of civilized life and order placed on a rock in natural areas in the Stockholm archipelago. Clean rooms with large glass surfaces directed towards the sea. The entrance side is highly contrasting – it is dense and consists of a plastered wall where the only hole is the high entrance door.

Consistently, a few materials are used. The inside has light materials, such as limestone from Gotland, ash which is silvery white and matte white painted walls and ceilings.

The exterior is dark with black plaster, tar paper, steel in dark colour. John Robert Nilsson has also designed the surrounding soil with an overflow pool and the ladder that will climb down to the bay and jetty.

Wow… this is really a dream house. I bet the construction materials and tools used in this kind of house is very expensive that it why it came out so elegant not to ignore the location too which is very perfect for the design.

Looks good but I miss some references to Scandinavia other than just modern design/architecture. I don’t see any use of wood, maybe it’s that. The photos are not really showing how the nature around flows to the experience, infinity pool is not the answer.
