Milk is a stool inspired by traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship but is manufactured largely by high tech computer aided 5-axis milling. Swedish designer Staffan Holm is interested in making design that focuses on emotional sustainability rather than practical function. Staffan is exploring the possibilities of making design that becomes precious for people and makes us want to keep it for future generations. In Milk stool, there is nothing more important than the meeting between the legs and the seat and it’s all the effort being put into the details, that makes Milk precious. Staffan will be exhibiting Milk stool in Milano Salone Satellite where he will be guest exhibitor of Norwegian designer Daniel Rybakken (winner of the Forum AID student award) Visit them in stand D22.
At the end of the post is a nice movie showing the manufacturing process. Movie is made by Carl Johan Engberg/Stavfel produktion.
