The Ceramica Chronograph Limited Edition by Rado is restyled by Jasper Morrison. It features new dials and proportions. The three counters, as always like three subtle random comets, have been redesigned and highlighted in gold, as all the other details on the dial. The minute indexes emphasize the highly graphic character of the model and form a rounded square towards the corners. Scarcely emerging from the case, the pushers signal the functions of this watch and are perfectly integrated into the profile of this model. Standing out: the golden crown matching each dial. As for the legendary ceramic, an innovative new development: matt appearance and exceptionally dense color, offer a striking contrast to the radiance of the gold and the brilliance of the black metalized crystal.

I am really disappointed that Jasper worked together with the probably most ugly watch company on the planet. What a waste of talent.
I just bought his new SAMSUNG phone which I enjoy a lot.

I agree that the samsung phone is a wonderful piece of jaspers design – he has done so many great things for so many great companies. actually, I am not an expert on watch companies so I don’t know much about this company that oliver mentions, so can’t judge the company but maybe he’s right……..he knows!
call me a classicist, but i still love the omega speedmaster professional as much as any…

Oliver, Rado is maybe not the most sexy watch brand out there… but this makes also the challenge bigger… and as both you and Tim says, the Samsung phone is a beautiful example of Jasper’s sufficient design.

I adore Jasper’s design as you know. I was just disappointed that he took up a job redesigning such an ugly watch instead of really doing a new watch of his own

Oliver, that’s true. Then you still got the chance…! (Oliver is the founder of Ikepod and I think he will start a new watch company one day…)

With only a few examples of ‘modern’ companies having done beautifully exceptional watches, IKEPOD stands out as rare example…….this can only testify to how hard it must be to have a ‘designer’ design a watch instead of a trained watch maker – with the Ikepod as the only example i can think of contrary to this theory, the best watches are in fact not designed by ‘designers’ at all.
but I agree with David, I think Oliver could and should do it again, and Jasper would be a good person to collaborate with to do something exceptional – after all, shouldn’t exceptional design be something to strive for?
